At the Easton's Group's latest high-rise development, residents will be an elevator ride away from outdoor space – whether its public attractions, such as Allan Gardens and Yonge-Dundas Square, or the private rooftop gardens.

"These days, there are all these buildings, but not much outdoor space, so that's why we felt [rooftop gardens] gives a good view from your unit and you can also go out and feel good," Easton's president Steve Gupta says. "And beyond the gardens there, that location is near gardens of the city."

The condominium community, named Dundas Square Gardens, will house more than one-third of an acre of green space on different floors of the 16-storey wing, but also several indoor facilities, such as a theatre, library, meeting and party rooms, within the 47-storey section.

"We have five rooftop gardens – the largest is about 8,000 square feet on the 18th floor with a pool, hot tub, fire pit, barbecues, reading, seating and social areas – and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, yoga room and weight room separate for working out," Mr. Gupta adds.

"Those facilities, most people can't have them at home, so this is the best way to have a great lifestyle and everything you need in the building."

For anything else, there is a wealth of established attractions surrounding the site at the corner of Dundas and Jarvis streets.

"This location is a gateway to the east," says Mr. Gupta, who acquired the land in 1997.

"It's a block and a half from the Eaton Centre, [Yonge] Dundas Square … Ryerson University and walking distance to George Brown. So people really like the location of the project and the prices are reasonable for downtown."

To address what is lacking in the neighbourhood, the builder hopes to add a supermarket at street level. "There's a void in the area and it will bring a lot of attraction to the corner and serve the whole area and also to the east and south."

Between the two towers, nearly 900 units were released, ranging from 350 to 800-square feet, but units can be combined.

Oversized terraces will be a highlight of many suites in the shorter, boutique building, which Page+Steele/IBI Group Architects designed with a separate entrance and elevators from the taller sister tower.

Munge Leung interior designers will dress units with modern features, such as laminate floors, Caesarstone kitchen counters and stainless steel appliances, as well as porcelain bathrooms floors and shower/tub surrounds.

"We will make fibre-optic cable available in each unit because … all the youngsters will need a lot more Internet and Wi-Fi ability," Mr. Gupta says. "That is a big plus."

Monthly fees will be 54 cents a square feet and a parking stall will cost $45,000 upfront. Occupancy is slated for December, 2017.
