LISTING AGENTS Rita Auciello and Susan Tallarico, Sutton Group Old Mill Realty Inc.
The Action: Nearly three dozen buyers scheduled a trip through this semi-detached house, which was at the centre of a bidding war between four buyers.
What They Got: On a 28-by-159-foot corner lot across from Bridgepoint Heath and kitty corner to Riverdale Park, this grand brick Victorian was discreetly updated with new mechanics, but bears 11-foot ceilings, traditional crown mouldings and intricate ceiling medallions.
The structure contains two apartments, each with a bathroom, kitchen and laundry appliances, as well as an unfinished basement with eight-foot ceilings and private parking outside.
The main-floor suite has a fireside bedroom, living and dining rooms and an eat-in kitchen with a walkout to a deck.
The second unit occupies the top two floors, including a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen and bedroom on the second level, and two bedrooms on the third level.
The Agent's Take: "We did price this to get some action, but the house had a lot of appeal because it was a large, three-storey Victorian, well maintained and divided into two units," says agent Rita Auciello. "It had so much charm and original detailing."
The property was also ideal for residents travelling on foot or by car. "It had a nice big property with a double car garage, which is unusual to find in an area like that. You're lucky to get even street parking," Ms. Auciello said. "You could walk to Broadview, Pape and Danforth and it was steps from parks."
