LISTING AGENT Ira Jelinek, Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: The first time this one-bedroom plus den suite was listed, there were no bites. Yet when it was reposted at the same price late last year, there were nearly two dozen requests for showings immediately and the new owner bought the unit and its furnishings.

What They Got: Local developer Peter Freed and international designer Philippe Starck collaborated in the creation of a mid-rise with ultra-modern suites, like this third floor unit with oak hardwood floors, sliding bedroom doors and a Scavolini kitchen with Caesarstone and stainless steel finishes.

The layout is open concept with the living and dining area situated along a wall of west-facing windows and terrace doors.

Supporting elements consist of a four-piece bathroom and ensuite laundry facilities, as well as a locker and parking.

Monthly fees of $368 covers the cost of water and heating, concierge and security, plus an outdoor pool.

The Agent's Take: "It was a cool loft in a very cool area in a building designed by Philippe Starck," says agent Ira Jelinek. "It was really cool and funky inside with exposed concrete ceilings, modern furniture, white lacquer kitchen and stainless steel appliances."

But a major highlight was outdoors. "I liked it because it faced west and for this building, facing west you have these really big patios with barbecues, so you could have seven people out there comfortably," Mr. Jelinek adds.
