The home has 2,535 square feet of contemporary living space.

The action: In April, this four-bedroom residence on a 25-by-150-foot lot proved immediately popular, with three showings daily and an open house attended by 30 groups.

“There were some houses that were comparable to this, but they had been on the market a lot longer, maybe one or two months,” agent Brenna Whyte said.

“We had one registered offer and one was coming down the pipes, but the … sellers got what they asked for, so we went with that.”

The south-facing deck has built-in seating.

What they got: Ali Malek-Zadeh of Urbanscape Architects designed this three-storey structure about 10 years ago. It has 2,535 square feet of contemporary living space and several exterior hideaways, including a second-floor courtyard between a bedroom and one of five bathrooms.

There are open living and dining areas, as well as two rear entertaining spaces with gas fireplaces, a south-facing deck with built-in seating and a double garage.

There are built-in speakers spread throughout the home, including in the sauna and 1,060-square-foot basement.

The agent's take: “Compared to some new builds nowadays, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the design and the finishes were sourced well,” Ms. Whyte said.

“Also, they landscaped [the backyard] with functionality there; like it could be used as a basketball court, parking or for gardening.”

Buyers were also surprised by the outdoor space created upstairs. “The little courtyard on the second floor is not something you see all the time,” Ms. Whyte said.

“The builder could have used that as more interior space, but wanted to add extra light to make that floor really beautiful.”
