LISTING AGENT Ira Jelinek, Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: This summer, there were only a few properties scattered about Bathurst Manor for house hunters to sample, including this detached brick bungalow near Downsview Park. Offers were to be reviewed following a week of marketing, but a strong bully bid without conditions proved too tempting for the sellers to decline.

What They Got: This postwar bungalow on a 50-by-114-foot corner lot has a classic three-bedroom plan with an attached garage and gated backyard.

Between 2011 and 2015, the interior was improved with three updated bathrooms and a remodelled kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, as well as new hardwood floors, custom trims and pot lights in various rooms.

Public quarters include a living room with stairs to a skylit loft area, a dining area with access to a deck and a recreation area in the basement, which has its own entrance and guest room.

The Agent's Take: "There was another bungalow close by in and around the same price, but it wasn't in the same interior condition and renovated like ours," agent Ira Jelinek says. "And the bedrooms were all great sizes, so it was a perfect house for a young family with one or two kids."

Even the outdoor space was a retreat for all ages. "What was special about it was that it was a corner property with a lovely yard – probably one of the nicest front yards in the area," Mr. Jelinek notes.
