The Action: It took a while to find someone willing to plunk down the dough for this live/work loft in a converted warehouse in Leslieville, but after run-throughs by 30 to 40 visitors, a match was made for just shy of $900,000 in early February.

What They Got: This early 20th-century warehouse was converted into a small collection of lofts called i-Zone about 14 years ago, including this southeast corner unit with about 1,985 square feet of living space across two levels, a street level entrance and underground parking.

The main floor is open concept with an office area with maple floors by the windows, a central kitchen with an island, stainless steel appliances and concrete floors and an interior living area with a skylight 18 feet above.

At the top of the staircase is another office space and sleeping quarters around the corner with open shelving, one of two renovated bathrooms and a sitting area overlooking the main floor.

Laundry facilities and a locker compete the package, plus monthly fees of $835 cover water, heat, party room and rooftop deck.

The Agent's Take: "I-Zone is a very successful conversion, one of the earliest that started the renaissance of Leslieville/South Riverdale," agent Sandra Pate says. "They are hard lofts that appeal to many – like artists and photographers – and many others with home businesses."

Those in the latter group found the current set up especially fitting. "Every suite is unique, this one is terrific as it has the only private entrance, direct from the street," Ms. Pate adds. "[Plus] this unit has the rights to create a roof deck."
