LISTING AGENT Nicolas Blachette, Sutton Group - West Coast Realty

The Action: The majority of buildings in the West End are more than 20 years old, and this one needed a major update, which it got, says listing agent Nicolas Blachette. As well, there are few new condo developments in the area, which is near Davie Village and the 22-kilometre seawall. Concord Pacific's nearby Alexandra Tower is one of the few new condo projects, and two years ago it sold out in almost three days.

What They Got: This two-level loft looks out to Alexandra Park and English Bay, with an ocean view, in the heart of Vancouver's West End. The 33-year-old concrete building recently underwent a $1-million renovation.

The unit features 18-foot ceilings, 1,420 square feet of living space, 340 square feet of patio space, two bedrooms and two parking spaces.

The Agent's Take: "This home sold fast because of its quiet location, unique layout and views over English Bay," says agent Nicolas Blachette.

"We had lots of viewings every day on it, and received multiple offers after one week. The majority of buyers were people downsizing from larger homes in more suburban areas, looking for the easygoing lifestyle with English Bay just steps away."
