Plazacorp and Hi-Rise Inc. are offering elegant condominium suites in the heart of Yorkville. The 18-storey Regency Yorkville, located in the upscale area of Bay Street and Yorkville Avenue, will have 58 units.

The building's stepped, New York-style, art deco architecture will be punctuated by balconies and expansive outdoor terraces. Mike Niven Interior Design of Toronto, one of Canada's premier design firms, created the interiors, melding classic traditionalism with modern chic.

Residents will enter through a soaring, two-storey lobby highlighted by a sweeping, mirrored staircase topped by a glittering chandelier. Luxurious finishes will include Bellini kitchens custom fitted in each suite, top-of-the-line appliances, exotic hardwood and marble flooring, plus elegant fixtures exclusive to the Regency.

Priced from about $815,000 to $5-million, the suites are among the largest offered in Toronto, ranging from 1,570 to 5,500 square feet, with some encompassing entire floors. Suites can be customized.

The building will have four elevators and a fully equipped fitness facility. Other features will include a party room with a caterer's kitchen, a full dining room, a library, 24-hour concierge, 16-hour valet parking and six-hour butler service.

The butler service will be able to help residents with such things as carrying parcels up to their suites, picking up dry cleaning and changing a light bulb.

About 60 per cent of the suites have sold and closing dates are set for the fall of 2006.

Buyers range from 40 to 50 years in age; many are from overseas, and their Regency suite is one of several homes they own.
