Anne Golden will step down as president and chief executive of the Conference Board of Canada at the middle of next year after having led the influential think tank for more than a decade.

"Leaving a position as exciting and fulfilling as president and CEO of the Conference Board will not be easy," Ms.Golden said of her planned departure in June 2012.

"Working at the Conference Board has been an extraordinary privilege, but at a certain point, it is important for an organization to refresh itself under new leadership," said Ms. Golden, who took on the role in 2001.
