Report on Business has examined the boards of directors of 232 companies and income trusts in the S&P/TSX composite index as of Sept. 1, 2013, to assess the quality of their governance practices.

The question marks in the top row of the table provide a summary of each question. For a full explanation of each question and how marks were assigned, see the full Board Games 2013 methodology.

Editor's note: An earlier version of this chart published online included an incorrect ranking for Empire Co. Ltd., showing a total score of 75 out of 100. In fact, Empire received a mark of 77 out of 100 this year, tying for 76th place over all in the ranking. An earlier version also showed Celestica Inc. with a total score of 77 out of 100. In fact, Celestica received a mark of 79 out of 100 this year, tying for 69th place over all in the ranking. An earlier version also showed an incorrect ranking for Metro Inc., showing a total score of 84 out of 100. In fact, Metro received a mark of 85 out of 100 this year, tying for 38th place in the ranking.
