globe careers

Navigating a career path is becoming ever more complicated, especially in light of the rapidly shifting global economy. With the launch of our new Careers section on the Report on Business website, The Globe is devoting more resources to the coverage of careers, and the forces shaping the future of work. From strategies for managing your career to leadership profiles and pieces on workplace trends, the site will offer daily insight into the world you inhabit for so much of your waking hours. We hope Globe Careers will help make your career path clearer.

Job search

The site features a fast, new job-search engine powered by Eluta.ca. Unlike traditional job boards, Eluta.ca lets job-seekers find all new career opportunities from employer websites – not just the advertised ones. Eluta.ca is also the online home of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project, providing job-seekers with trusted and reliable editorial information about working conditions at thousands of employers across Canada. This search engine allows you to search by position and location (city, province or postal code), and it will produce all the jobs at an employer. You can also set up e-mail alerts or an RSS feed to monitor future job postings.

Columnists

To strengthen our coverage, we're adding a weekly print and online column by Leah Eichler on women and success, to run on Saturdays. Long-time columnist Harvey Schachter will write a new weekly online feature on work/life balance.

Expert advice

We also provide advice and insight into day-to-day challenges with our Ask a Career Expert feature, and peek into how real-life successes do it with My Work, a glance into the day of an executive or professional, and My Career, a look at how top leaders scaled the ladder.

Do you have a question on careers, labour law or management? Send it in to our panel of experts, which includes career coaches, a recruitment expert and an employment lawyer: careerquestion@globeandmail.com
