WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Continuing with this week's theme on hot niche sectors, today we'll look at companies in the WilderHill progressive energy index.
Companies in this group are involved in what is called transitional energy bridge technologies, or in other words, they are focused on improving the use of existing fossil fuels.
TODAY'S SCREEN
There is an exchange-traded fund of the index called the PowerShares WilderHill Progressive Energy Portfolio. But today we'll look for a name that might outperform the ETF, which is up more than 11 per cent this year. We'll borrow the list of stocks in the index, and rank them by the fastest-growing earnings estimates for next year.
Also, keep an eye on the price-to-earnings ratios in the hope of finding one that isn't outrageously expensive.
