Boardwalk Real Estate Investment Trust has signed a deal to sell its Windsor, Ont., portfolio of buildings for $136.2-million.

The buyer of the portfolio of 1,685 units, which includes a mix of townhouses as well as high and low-rise apartments, was not disclosed by the trust.

Boardwalk says the sale is part of a review of its non-core holdings.

The real estate trust owns and operates more than 34,000 residential units in Canada with properties in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec.
