Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 6 euro cents, down from 36 euro cents (56 cents) last year.

In St. Louis, Mo., U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner addresses the 51st annual meeting of the National Association for Business Economics.

Tuesday, Oct. 13

Intel Corp. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 27 cents (U.S.), down from 35 cents last year.

Domino's Pizza Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 15 cents (U.S.), up from 13 cents last year.

Johnson & Johnson reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of $1.13 (U.S.), down from $1.17 last year.

OSI Geospatial reports. It is expected to break even in the third quarter, compared with a loss of two cents per share last year.

Statistics Canada reports on the new housing price index for August. Economists expect an increase of 0.2 per cent from the previous month.

The Bank of Japan starts a two-day monetary policy meeting.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

JPMorgan Chase & Co. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 49 cents (U.S.), up from 11 cents last year.

WD-40 Co. reports. It is expected to post a fourth-quarter share profit of 40 cents (U.S.), up from 28 cents last year.

U.S. Department of Commerce reports advance retail sales for September. Economists expect a 2.1 per cent drop.

U.S. Commerce reports on business inventories for August. Economists expect a drop of 0.8 per cent.

Thursday, Oct. 15

The U.S. Department of Labour reports on the consumer price index for September. Economists forecast a 0.2 per cent rise from the previous month, and a 1.4 per cent drop year-over-year.

U.S. Labour reports on initial jobless claims for the week ended Oct. 10 and continuing claims for the week ended Oct. 3.

Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation sponsors the 2009 Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspector's annual conference in Montreal, running until Oct. 17.

Citigroup Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share loss of 21 cents (U.S.), compared with a 60-cent loss last year.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of $4.24 (U.S.).

Harley-Davidson Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 21 cents (U.S.), down from 71 cents last year.

International Business Machines Corp. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of $2.38 (U.S.), up from $2.05 last year.

Nokia Corp. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 13 euro cents (20 cents), down from 33 euro cents last year.

Polaris Industries Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 84 cents (U.S.), down from $1.13 last year.

Baxter International Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 97 cents (U.S.), up from 88 cents last year.

Safeway Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 30 cents (U.S.), down from 46 cents last year.

Southwest Airlines Co. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter loss of one cent (U.S.) per share, down from a nine-cent profit last year.

Winnebago Industries Inc. reports. It is expected to post a fourth-quarter loss of 24 cents (U.S.) per share, compared with a 44-cent loss last year.

Friday, Oct. 16

Statistics Canada reports on the consumer price index for September. Economists expect a decline of 0.8 per cent from last year, and a 0.1 per cent rise from the previous month.

The U.S. Federal Reserve Board reports on industrial production and capacity utilization in September. Industrial production is expected to increase 0.1 per cent, and the capacity utilization rate is forecast to be 69.7 per cent.

Bank of America Corp. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter loss of 6 cents (U.S.) per share, compared with a 15-cent profit last year.

General Electric Co. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 20 cents (U.S.), down from 45 cents last year.

Mattel Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 63 cents (U.S.), down from 66 cents last year.

Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB releases quarterly results.

Universal Forest Products Inc. reports. It is expected to post a third-quarter share profit of 40 cents (U.S.), up from 15 cents last year.
