Hertz Global Holdings Inc. says its Canadian subsidiary has acquired Irving Industrial Rentals, the Irving family-owned equipment rental company based in New Brunswick. The price tag of the deal, announced yesterday, was not revealed. Irving Industrial Rentals is based in Saint John and rents everything from forklifts and compressors to heaters, light towers and aerial platforms, mainly to the oil refining, pulp and paper, shipbuilding and other industrial sectors. Hertz said the transaction will boost the market presence of Matthews Equipment Ltd., the U.S. company's Canadian equipment rental subsidiary. HTZ-N (NYSE) rose 9 cents to $9.
