HTC Purenergy Inc. says it has acquired Carbon Rx Inc., a private company which develops technology to advance carbon credit trading around the world. Under terms of the transaction, announced yesterday, HTC will acquire all Carbon Rx in exchange for 346,000 HTC common shares, at a deemed price of $2.50 a share. HTC will have the exclusive right to use and license the Carbon Rx software and technology used to manage carbon trading, including royalty agreement, equity participation and licensing agreements. Carbon Rx operates in Canada, China, Australia and the United States to develop credits for the storage of CO{-2} in depleted natural gas and oil reservoirs. HTC (TSX Venture) rose 30 cents to $2.64.
