Oreo cookie turns 100 Add to ...

<p>In these health-conscious days, it's hard to imagine anything branded as a "creme sandwich" finding success. But what a difference a century makes.</p><p>Kraft Foods Inc. is rolling out a global campaign to celebrate the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.oreo100.ca/en/"><font color="#FF0000">100th birthday</font></a> of the Oreo cookie (originally marketed as the Oreo Sandwich) this Tuesday, March 6.</p> <p>The campaign comes as Kraft Foods prepares for a major shift later this year. Kraft has announced it will divide into two companies: one for its snack brands, including Oreo, and another for North American grocery products such as Maxwell House.</p><p>To leverage the Oreo brand's heritage, Kraft is releasing a special-edition birthday cake-flavoured cookie, a series of new commercials and events.
