An American child's death linked to a toy produced by a Mega Bloks Inc. subsidiary Rose Art Industries Inc. has prompted a recall of the Magnetix brand of magnetic building sets. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced yesterday that the voluntary recall was prompted by the death of a 20-month-old boy who swallowed magnets that twisted his small intestine and created a blockage. "CPSC is aware of 34 incidents involving small magnets, including one death and four serious injuries," the agency said. New Jersey-based Rose Art said it will exchange the toys for ones more suitable for young children. MB (TSX) fell $1.42 to $24.70. CP
