National Public Relations has acquired Madano Partnership, a London-based public relations company.

Canada's largest public relations firm has its sights on a global expansion, and it's starting first across the pond.

National Public Relations has acquired Madano Partnership, a London-based public relations company.

Financial details of the deal were not made public.

The acquisition will add 15 employees in London, where National already has an office with 40 employees who mainly specialize in health-care communications.

The two offices will operate independently, said John Crean, a managing partner at National.

He said the expansion is part of a longer-term plan for National to open more offices overseas.

"Canada and Canadian companies continually need to tell their story, whether they're expanding globally or simply need to discuss with global media who they are and what they do," Crean said.

Including the acquisition, he said the company is forecasted to report $62 million in combined revenues this year.

Founded in 1976, National Public Relations has 350 employees at 10 offices across the country, including Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa. It also has offices in New York and London.
