Petro-Canada, which left Venezuela June 26 along with Exxon Mobil Corp. and ConocoPhillips Co., has received partial payment for its stake in La Ceiba, the Venezuelan oil field it shared with Exxon Mobil. Petro-Canada finished selling its stake to state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela SA about 10 days ago, Tom Carney, spokesman for the company, said yesterday. Terms of the sale are confidential, he said. "We have received some of the money," Mr. Carney said. "We are happy we are receiving commercial value for our interest." He said Petroleos de Venezuela paid in cash. ConocoPhillips and Exxon Mobil are continuing discussions with Venezuela. PCA (TSX) rose 57 cents to $53.86.
