SABMiller PLC will replace Molson Coors Brewing Co. as the brewer of Foster's Group Ltd. beer for the United States. SABMiller will take over brewing of Foster's lager and Special Bitter in November under a 10-year licence agreement, according to a statement e-mailed yesterday by the London-based company. The brewer's U.S. unit, Miller Brewing Co., will make the beers at plants in Texas and Georgia. The change will unify brewing of Foster's beer for the U.S., carried out by Molson Coors in Canada, with sales and marketing, which Miller has handled since 1993. Miller's assumption of brewing will cut freight costs, and the company plans to spend the savings to boost sales of Foster's, the statement shows. TAP (NYSE) fell 59 cents (U.S.) to $89.86.
