A brief history of Frank T. Ross & Sons Ltd.:

1928: Family-run company founded by the grandfather of the current president and the CEO

1950s: Father moves company from Vancouver to Ontario

1963: Launch of NatureClean line of 'all-natural' soaps, detergents, and cleaning agents

1985: Bernie Ross joins company and works to promote interest in NatureClean

2002: Mr. Ross and brother Blake take over as CEO and president, respectively

2006: Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth , revitalizes concerns about the global environment and adds to momentum of sales of green products and other food and health products, free of allergens and additives

2009: F.T. Ross enjoys four years of 20 per cent to 30 per cent growth, even during the recession. Signs deal to launch new line of kids bath soaps that ties in with Treehouse network's most popular children's programs.

According to Statistics Canada, health and personal-care products are a $37 billion market in this country. In 2008, the average Canadian household spent $180 on cleaning supplies.
