Lena Fevens, 29, is the owner of Lena's Designer Cakes and a recent graduate of Nova Scotia Community College. She was recently named the 2011 Student Entrepreneur Nova Scotia Champion by charitable organization Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) and CIBC.

Ms. Fevens' company, founded in 2010, specializes in the design and creation of one-of-a-kind cakes and desserts for all occasions.

Her largest business accomplishments to date include building her own cake studio, making a number of jaw-droppingly beautiful wedding cakes and opening a full-time retail store in downtown Yarmouth, N.S. She plans one day to open franchises across the country.

"My business is my passion in life and this award provides the opportunity for me to continue to grow as an entrepreneur and as a businesswoman," Ms. Fevens said.
