how i started

Frustrated with lengthy prep times and high costs of cooking for themselves, Maria Golikova and Jeffrey Bunn founded Mealime, a meal-planning service for busy professionals

Whether it was outlined on the back of a paper napkin, it was financed by your sister's mother-in-law's next-door neighbour, or it was a desperation move after you were laid off by a corporation, we want to hear about how your small or medium-sized business got its start.

Maria Golikova and Jeffrey Bunn are the co-founders of Mealime, a meal-planning service for busy professionals based in Vancouver, B.C. In this edition of How I Started, they talk about how they came up with the idea for their business and offer advice to aspiring entrepreneurs.

If you're an entrepreneur and you'd like to contribute to the series, please fill out the following submission form here. For added inspiration, check out our YouTube channel featuring small business owners across the country.

If you're chosen to participate, be prepared to shoot and send us a two-minute video of yourself telling your start-up story. We're not looking for anything fancy. A smart phone camera will do.
