Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has appointed Susan Rimmer as its new global head for debt capital markets.

Before the appointment, Ms. Rimmer led coverage for corporate and financial issuers. She is now in charge of overseeing and expanding the entire DCM group.

Doug Bartlett, who oversaw the coverage of government debt and infrastructure issuers alongside Ms. Rimmer, has been promoted to vice-chair. He will continue to lead the coverage of government issuers. The infrastructure and project finance team now reports to Laurie Mahon, who leads the bank's global infrastructure finance operation.

The changes were announced by wholesale banking co-head Harry Culham, who was given extra responsibility for international operations when CIBC's new CEO, Victor Dodig, laid out his executive team in September.
