Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has ushered in some changes at the senior level of its investment banking arm.

Jean Raymond, CIBC's head of wholesale banking in Quebec, now heads up the Montreal investment banking team, while Benoit Lauze, the former head of investment banking in Quebec, will move to Toronto to become of the head of origination in equity capital markets. Mr. Lauze will be paired with Scott Smith, who is the syndication head in ECM. Dan Nowlan, former ECM co-head, is no longer with the firm.

Because Mr. Lauze, who was also co-head of technology, media and telecom coverage, is taking on a new role, CIBC appointed Michael Cochrane and Ryan Voegeli has co-heads of both the diversified industries group and technology, media and telecom.

In the prairies, Jason Stefanson has been named vice-chair and is still responsible for senior client coverage in Western Canada, aside from energy and mining.
