Oil and gas specialist Rob Conci has joined Raymond James as vice-president, investment banking, in its energy banking group, the latest in a series of appointments at the firm's Calgary office.
Mr. Conci has worked in oil and gas financing for the past eight years and was most recently at National Bank Financial, where he was a VP in its energy investment banking group. Prior to that he worked at GMP Securities and Scotia Capital.
In recent weeks, Raymond James has also filled positions in its research department, hiring oil and gas analysts Kurt Molnar and Chris Cox. These appointments came amid numerous moves in research and investment banking at Calgary dealers in 2013.
In another appointment, Haywood Securities has hired analyst Jeff Sears from the hedge fund world to cover domestic small- and mid-cap oil companies in its Calgary shop.
Mr. Sears was most recently at Rayne Capital Management Inc. and had been an analyst at National Bank Financial before that.
Haywood made headlines in August when energy expert and GMP Securities veteran Dan Tsubouchi joined the boutique firm as head of investment banking.
