UBS ramps up European sales team Add to ...

When you are one of Europe's leading investment banks, there's no excuse for failing to deliver Canadian stocks to that continent's institutions.

UBS Securities took steps to ensure that its trans-Atlantic team remains solid on Monday by announcing an internal promotion and an outside hire, moves it was forced to take after losing the bulk of its Europe-based Canadian equity sales team to BMO Nesbitt Burns this spring.

This summer, UBS veteran Patrick Drouin will move from Toronto to London to lead the Canadian sales team in Europe. He's been with the firm for eight years, in San Francisco and Toronto.

In July, UBS will also welcome Paul Chutter to the U.K. sales team from Canaccord Capital's London office. He earned a law degree at the University of London prior to working in the City.

For more than 20 years, UBS Securities has maintained a dedicated team to market Canadian equities to U.K. and European clients.
