A long-time research analyst is moving on to something new.

David Newman, who has worked in equity research for nearly two decades, left Cormark Securities this week. During his career he covered a range of industries including consumer products and special situations, but is arguably best known for his recent work on industrial products and transportation companies, such as Air Canada.

Mr. Newman will help launch a new private investment firm, but there aren't many details at the moment. More information is expected in the next few weeks.
