TD Ameritrade Holding Corp. named Fred Tomczyk chief executive officer, while Joe Moglia will assume the post of chairman. Mr. Tomczyk, 52, and Mr. Moglia, 59, start their new jobs Oct. 1, the Omaha, Neb.-based company said in a statement yesterday. Mr. Moglia is succeeding founder Joseph Ricketts, who had been chairman since 1981 and will retire in September. Ameritrade's market value surged more than tenfold to $9.7-billion (U.S.) during Mr. Moglia's seven-year tenure as CEO, according to Bloomberg data. Mr. Tomczyk joined Ameritrade in July, 2007, as chief operating officer. AMTD (Nasdaq) rose 29 cents to $18.21.
