U.S. Steel, union reach deal to end lockout Add to ...

The United Steelworkers union has reached a tentative deal with U.S. Steel to end an eight-month lockout at the company's Lake Erie Works facility.

Details of the agreement were not immediately available.

U.S. Steel locked out 150 workers at the former Stelco facility last summer after they refused to accept a package of cuts to wages, pensions and health benefits.

Union members will vote on the proposed contract next week.
