Telecom manufacturer Wi-LAN Inc. reported yesterday a fiscal 2008 loss of $9.2-million, dropping from a year-before profit of $2.6-million as revenue slid sharply to $26.6-million from $61.3-million in 2007. The loss amounted to 10 cents per share, versus a profit of 34 cents in 2007. The company said its fourth-quarter profit was $277,000 or nil cents per share, versus year-earlier profits of $1.2-million or a penny per share. Fourth-quarter revenue was $13.7-million as compared with $7.2-million a year ago. In 2009, Wi-LAN said it expects pro-forma earnings of between $9.5-million and to $13-million on revenues within a range of $30-million to $34-million. WIN (TSX) fell 9 cents to $1.60.
