The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed first baseman Matt Hague off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Hague, 28, has spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Indianapolis, batting .267 with 14 home runs and 67 runs batted in in 93 games and earning an International League all-star selection.

The right-handed hitter has appeared in 33 career major-league games for the Pirates, recording a .222 average with two doubles and seven RBIs.

The Bellevue, Wash., native will report to the Buffalo Bisons.
