Another Toronto Blue Jays pitcher has undergone surgery.
This time it is Casey Janssen, who underwent successful right shoulder surgery to repair lingering AC joint soreness on Friday, the American League team said in a news release issued on Tuesday.
Jansssen, 31, had the small portion of the end of his clavicle shaved down to relieve the discomfort. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles and the 6-foot-3, right-hander is expected to be ready for spring training.
Janssen enjoyed a fine season with the Blue Jays and finished the season as the team's closer, totalling 22 saves and a 2.54 ERA.
