For those wondering why I asked Kris Humphries to do Ask Hump! consider the scene the other day when I wandered into the Raptors locker room. Hump and Hassan Adams are on hand and Jay is making some remark to Hump, in jest. I didn't quite catch it, something about reading. Anyway, Adams is killing himself laughing. Hump pops off with: "Don't give him a courtesy laugh just 'cause he's the head coach now. You wouldn't be laughing three weeks ago." Then Jay starts laughing. The Hump, er, Big Sexy, is funny.

Anway, on with the show. We got quite a few good questions, but didn't have time for all of them, but I will try to get to them next time. And these things kind of meander, so even the questions asked don't always get answered. But enjoy.

From Jenn:

I'm wondering about Hump's background: I recall reading somewhere that his father was a College (pro?) football player [FD: college, offensive lineman at the University of Minnesota]and that his mother was an amateur athlete as well (swimming?). Is that accurate? What are the details [FD: Not sure about Moms] and did he consider any other sports besides basketball during his formative athletic years? Any other ahtletes in the family [FD: sister swam at the University of Texas]

Hump: I grew up swimming and I played football and baseball in middle school, but I stopped all that and played just basketball in high school.

FD: You didn't think about playing football in high school?

Hump: Nah.

Moon: You're too tall man.

Hump: [Ignoring Moon]Basketball was more of a challenge. I was good but not as dominant as as I was in swimmming [FD: As of three years ago, when I did this story , Hump still held records for age group swimming] I was good at baseball.

FD: Could you have played pro in other sports?

Hump: I think I could have been a pro swimmer [?]if I stuck with that. I was good, but I stopped when I was 12. I could have played football too, because I'm pretty athletic and I have good hands. Baseball? Hard to tell. Hitting is weird, you never know. Moon thinks he could be a quarterback.

Moon: Wide receiver!

Hump: You're not fast enough

Moon: What!!! I'm ain't fast enough?!?

Hump: No.

Moon: Man. You're out of here.

Hump: Moon, I know like six guys on this team faster than you. Starting with me.

Moon: I can guarantee you aren't one of them.

Hump: Bet?

Moon: How much you want to bet?

Hump: What you got? We'll bet who can run a mile faster.

Moon: A mile?!?

FD: A mile?!?

Moon: I thought we were racing

Hump: Go run a mile!

Moon: A mile. Football players don't run miles.

Hump: See! Exactly. I found a weakness. Next question.

So are these questions for Kris supposed to be basketball related? Cause I'm sure I speak for all of the ladies out there who are wondering whether Kris Humphries is single or not. If he doesn't want to answer that, at least ask him who he thinks is the best dressed guy on the team.

  Thanks,

Jenn

Hump: I am single. And the best dressed guy on the team?

Moon: You're crazy, dawg.

Hump: I would have to say Roko Ukic.

FD: That's not true.

Hump: What?

FD: He's not the best-dressed guy on the team.

Hump: Yeah he is.

FD: No he's not.

Hump: Why are you saying that?

FD: I'm just saying he's not the best dressed guy on the team.

Hump: Who's the best dressed guy?

FD: It's not Roko.

Hump: It ain't Moon.

Graham: [in a Barry White voice]It's Joe Geezy.

Hump: Nah, it ain't Geezy.

Graham: That's why you all....[can't quite hear]/p>

Hump: Nate Jawai! Nate Jawai!

FD:Anthony Parker?

Hump: Nate Jawai! Nate Jawai! Nah, nah. That's a joke too. We'll go with Parker, because he's conservative.

Parker: [Suspicious look]/p>

Hump: Best dressed guy! That's a shout out.

AP: [Head shake]/p>

Hump: [To AP]I like your style! It works for 20 to 60!

AP: [Ignores Hump]/p>

I want to know how difficult of a transition was it for him being a star player (especially offensively) throughout high school and college, but having to take a backseat and becoming more of a role player in the NBA focusing more on rebounding, hustle and defense.  I'm sure it can't be easy, and I'm sure it is an issue that a lot of players have to come to terms with when they make the League, and probably is the downfall of many a player who can't come to terms with not being "the Man."

Cheers,

Mark (from Toronto)

Hump: That was so long ago [sadly shaking head]

AP: [Suddenly attentive]I can't wait to hear this one! [Claps his hands and -- literally -- begins rubbing them together in anticipation]/p>

Hump: Here's the thing. You can't ever let uh...[pausing to ask about The Score's Nikki Reyes , interviewing Jason Kapono]Who's that?

AP: Wow! Thirst [offers Hump a drink of Gatorade]/p>

Hump: [struggling to focus again]It's difficult, but you have to hope one day that hard work will take you where you want to be as a player. Pretty much every player, hopefully, has aspirations of being better than what they are. For me it's been tough with the transition, but you don't give up on it, you keep working. Maybe I'll be like Parker one day. Don't right that. He's a bum.

AP: [leaves for pre-game chapel service shaking head]/p>

I think Hump would be bad ass if he trained in MMA.

Cheers,

Justin

Hump: What is that, some ultimate fighting league? Damn, I'd have to work on my flexibility. Those guys, they kick. What's crazy about that, not that many fights end up in knockout. It's mostly submissions, so ex-wrestlers are pretty good. I don't think that's my thing.

[Glances over to where Reyes is interview Kapono]/p>

I'm next over there! Hey!

[Kapono and Nikki ignore him]/p>

[Whispers]What's her name?

FD: Lisa

Hump: Hey, Lisa....

* So that's about it. Normally a 2-24 team should be a walkover, but the catch is the Raptors are pretty fragile right now, and according to this, the Thunder are starting to play better than their record.

* Shame on all that are to blame for the TSN2 mess - Rogers, TSN, MLSE - all should be embarrassed.

*I'll just mention that I caught some of the Suns-Blazers game last night. Unfortunately not the part where Brandon Roy went insane and beat the Nashes. But up until the third quarter I thought Phoenix with Richardson in the lineup, looked really good. Shaq looked lively, the pace has picked up some. As much as I like Raja Bell, Richardson is the kind of slashing, open floor scorer they needed. Matt Barnes gives them something. If Mike D'Antoni was coaching that team I'd say they have a chance. They still might.

Other than that, it will be slim pickings over here over the holidays. We're not staffing this trip and I'm going to take the time off. See you in the New Year.

Safe holidays and thanks for stopping by,

mg
