Saint Louis University men's basketball coach Rick Majerus underwent a successful procedure to insert a stent into his heart on Sunday.

The procedure was done by Dr. James Revenaugh in Salt Lake City.

"I feel great and I am looking forward to the beginning of the season," Majerus, 63, said in a statement issued by the school.

Team spokesman Brian Kunderman said Majerus would not be at the first workout on Monday and didn't know if the head coach would attend the second workout on Wednesday. The Billikens open a 10-day trip to Canada on August 22 against the University of Windsor Lancers. Saint Louis also play exhibition games against Western Mustangs (August 23), University of Ottawa Gee Gees (August 25) and the Carleton Ravens (August 26 and 27).

Saint Louis is coming off a 12-19 season, finishing 10th in the Atlantic 10 with a 6-10 conference record.
