Tests reveal no significant damage to Bargnani's calf

Toronto Raptors centre Andrea Bargnani reacts after hitting a shot during the second half of their NBA basketball game against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

Tests on Andrea Bargnani's injured calf muscle revealed no significant damage, but the Toronto Raptors have no timeline for his return.

The Raptors' leading scorer reinjured his strained calf in the first overtime of Wednesday's double-overtime victory over Utah and underwent testing Thursday in Denver.

The team says the Italian forward will be sidelined indefinitely.

Bargnani originally injured his calf Jan. 11 against Sacramento and missed six games from January 13-22.

Bargnani is averaging a team-high 23.5 points over 13 games, plus 6.4 rebounds, second on the team. He has scored 30 or more points in four games, including 36 in his return to the lineup Tuesday in Phoenix.

The Raptors continue their road trip Friday night against the Nuggets.
