It is the most exciting part of the football season in Canadian Interuniversity Sport, with playoffs this weekend across the country.

The action began Friday in Calgary, where the Dinos (No. 2) played the Regina Rams in a Canada West semi-final at McMahon Stadium.

The winner will advance to next Friday's Hardy Cup conference championship against the winner of the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds (No. 6)-Saskatchewan Huskies (No. 10) clash Saturday at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver.

The other CIS playoff games scheduled for Saturday:

In the Ontario semi-finals, the Western Ontario Mustangs (No. 3) will play Windsor Lancers, and the Queen's Golden Gaels (No. 8) will play the McMaster Marauders (No. 4) at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton.

In the Quebec semi-finals, the Laval Rouge et Or (No. 1) will play the Concordia Stingers at PEPS Stadium in Quebec City, and the Montreal Carabins (No. 7) will play the Sherbrooke Vert et Or (No. 5) at the University of Sherbrooke Stadium.

In the Atlantic semi-finals, the St. Francis Xavier X-Men will play the Saint Mary's Huskies at Huskies Stadium in Halifax. The Acadia Axemen received a bye into the Loney Bowl conference final.
