Star Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros says his right ankle feels “really good” and he will play in Sunday’s Grey Cup game against the Toronto Argonauts.

“I’ll be ready to go,” he said at Thursday’s Grey Cup media day.

Collaros sustained an apparent ankle injury when he was tackled in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s West Division final win over the B.C. Lions.

He wasn’t on the field for Winnipeg’s first practice of Grey Cup week Wednesday in Regina. Backup Dru Brown took first-team reps.

Collaros also did not practise on Thursday.

The Blue Bombers have won two straight Grey Cups with Collaros as their starting quarterback.

The 34-year-old was chosen the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2021 and is a West’s nominee for that award again this year.
