Buffalo Bills's Ron Brooks tackles the Seattle Seahawks's Michael Robinson during their NFL game in Toronto, December 16, 2012.The Globe and Mail

The Buffalo Bills and Rogers Media have announced a new agreement that will see the NFL team play one regular-season game a year at Toronto's Rogers Centre over the next five seasons.

The deal also includes one preseason game in 2015.

The existing five-year deal expired with the Seattle Seahawks' lopsided 50-17 win over the Bills in December, but an extension had long been expected.

Only 40,770 fans attended this season's game, far short of a sellout of over 53,000 that had been expected for the final game of the expiring $78-million deal.

Buffalo has won just one of its regular-season games in Toronto.

The Bills recently extended their lease at Ralph Wilson Stadium for 10 years with an agreement that should solidify the franchise's short-term future in Western New York.
