Fred Stamps

The Edmonton Eskimos may have questions at quarterback but not at receiver.

Fred Stamps agreed to a new contract Tuesday and will resume his status as the Canadian Football League team's top receiver. Last season in just 15 games, Stamps caught 82 passes for 1,153 yards and eight touchdowns. The 30-year-old import has surpassed 1,000 yards in receiving for three consecutive seasons and will be the main target for either Steven Jyles or Kerry Joseph.

The unproven Jyles and the veteran Joseph are being asked to replace Ricky Ray, who was traded by Edmonton to Toronto. In Stamps, the Eskimos' quarterbacks have a three-time CFL Players' Association all-star and a reliable deep threat.
