One of the most highly recruited Canadians in NCAA history announced his acceptance of a full football scholarship and will attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln next fall.
David Knevel, a 6’8”, 305 pound offensive tackle who attends Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Vocational School in Brantford, received offers from twelve U.S. colleges, including Alabama, Baylor, Missouri and Purdue.
Knevel said at a press conference that he was attracted to Nebraska because of the solid football program and the school’s reputation for academics stating, “I look forward to getting to work both on and off the field.”
This past summer, Knevel, who didn’t start playing football until his junior year in high school, helped Team Canada to a 23-17 win over Team U.S.A. in the IFAF U-19 tournament in Austin, Texas.
