A Montreal newspaper is reporting that one Alouettes player is suing a teammate over a $15,000 investment gone awry.
La Presse says receiver Danny Desriveaux has filed a civil suit in court against Kerry Carter after investing $15,000 in 2009 in a company owned by the running back.
The report says Desriveaux is alleging that Carter was deceitful in seeking the money.
The plaintiff alleges that Carter talked at the time about the investment increasing in value.
Desriveaux says he asked for his money back but that Carter refused to hand it over.
Jeffrey Schwartz, Desriveaux's lawyer, says he had heard nothing from Carter as of Thursday and that the case could end up in court.
Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman had little to say on the story after Montreal's 34-21 victory over the Eskimos in Edmonton on Friday night, but added: "It's a report, that's all it is for right now. If there is a time to discuss it, we will do that. But tonight is not the time."
