Corey Chamblin is staying put.

The Grey Cup-champion Saskatchewan Roughriders signed their head coach Thursday to a contract extension through the 2017 season.

Chamblin was entering the final year of the deal he signed when he first joined the Riders in 2012.

Chamblin, 36, was named the CFL's coach of the year after leading the Roughriders to an 11-7 regular-season record and eventual Grey Cup title.

Chamblin has amassed a 19-17 regular-season record and 3-1 playoff mark, including one Grey Cup victory, with Saskatchewan.
