Kenton Keith's stay with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats was a short one.
On Friday, the Ticats released the veteran running back, who signed with Hamilton midway through the 2008 season after being cut by the Indianapolis Colts. Keith ran for just 102 yards on 29 carries (3.5-yard average) that year before spending the 2009 campaign on the injured list with a knee injury.
That allowed rookie DeAndra' Cobb to emerge as the club's top running back. Cobb ran for 1,217 yards last season for Hamilton, which finished second in the East Division with a 9-9 record.
Keith played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 2002 to '06, rushing for 3,811 yards in 43 games.
Hamilton also signed import running backs Brian Calhoun and Jhamal Fluellen.
The five-foot-10, 208-pound Calhoun was a second-round pick of the NFL's Detroit Lions in 2006. He was released by the Lions last season.
Fluellen, played three seasons at Maine, rushing for 1,908 yards and 10 TDs. The five-foot-nine, 186-pound running back also had 63 catches for 589 yards and three touchdowns and also ran track at Maine last year.
