Western Mustangs crush Ottawa Gee-Gees 83-27

Will Finch connected with Brian Marshall for all three of his touchdown passes Saturday as the No. 3 Western Mustangs hammered the Ottawa Gee-Gees 83-27 in Canadian university football action.

Finch completed 18-of-26 passes for 297 yards and also rushed eight times for 63 yards and a TD for Western (4-0).

Marshall caught five balls for 78 yards, while Adam Sinclair and Justin Sanvido each caught five passes for 92 yards.

Garret Sanvido rushed 12 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns for the Mustangs, who also got TDs on the ground from Sinclair, Yannick Harou and Preston Huggins.

At London, Ont., Aaron Colbon was 24-of-36 passing for 328 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Ottawa (2-2).

Andrew Mullings caught both TD passes from Colbon and finished with 76 yards receiving.

Ian Stewart was Colbon's top target with eight catches for 148 yards.

Western led 44-20 at halftime before pouring it on in the third quarter by outscoring Ottawa 30-0.

At Wolfville, N.S., Tristan Grenon threw for 109 yards and a touchdown as Laval (3-0) defeated Acadia (0-2).

At Montreal, Sean Thomas-Erlington rushed for 106 yards and touchdown as the Carabins (3-0) defeated Saint Mary's (1-1).

At Calgary, Andrew Buckley threw for two touchdowns and 294 yards while running in another score as the Dinos (3-0) stayed perfect against Saskatchewan (2-1).


No. 7 Gryphons 38, Varsity Blues 12

At Toronto, Jazz Lindsey threw four touchdowns as Guelph (3-0) defeated the Varsity Blues (1-3).


No. 8 Bisons 36, Thunderbirds 32

At Vancouver, Nic Demski caught two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter including one with just over a minute left that lifted Manitoba (2-1) past UBC (1-3).


No. 9 Marauders 41, Lions 27

At Hamilton, Marshall Ferguson tossed five TDs, including three to Daniel Vandervoort, as McMaster (2-2) downed York (1-2).


Lancers 44, Ravens 14

At Windsor, Ont., Austin Kennedy threw three touchdown passes as the Lancers (2-2) got past winless Carleton (0-3).


Redmen 48, Mounties 17

At Sackville, N.B., Luis Guimont-Mota rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown as McGill (2-1) topped Mount Allison (0-2).


X-Men 35, Stingers 18

At Montreal, Clay Masikewich threw three touchdown passes as St. FX (2-0) defeated Concordia (0-3).


Golden Hawks 41, Warriors 10

At Waterloo, Ont., Dillon Campbell rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns for Laurier (1-3) in a crushing win over the Warriors (1-3).


Gaiters 22, Vert et Or 21

At Sherbrooke, Que., Mathieu Paquette kicked a 47-yard field goal with 37 seconds remaining to lift Bishop's (2-1) past the Vert et Or (0-3).


Rams 55, Golden Bears 35

At Edmonton, Cayman Shutter threw for a spectacular 484 yards and four touchdowns while running in two more himself to lead Regina (1-2) past Alberta (1-2).
