Number of Game 7s played in the NHL playoffs dating back to 1939, the first year the best-of-seven format was used. Roughly 24 per cent of series have gone to Game 7 since then. (The most common outcome is a six-game series, which happens about one-third of the time.)


Winning percentage of the home team in Game 7, with an overall record of 80-51. Home-ice advantage, however, hasn't been as helpful in the quarter-finals, where the home team has only a 20-19 record in Game 7.
