How does the hockey lockout affect you?

In a recent survey, we asked readers how much they care about hockey and the NHL lockout. More than 7,000 people responded.

You love watching the game

Of the 73 per cent of you who watch hockey, most of you watch it one to four times per week.Only 6 per cent of you watch it
more than five times a week.

But you don't play it — or buy tickets

Only three out of 10 play any kind of hockey.

Only 39 per cent of you attend games during the season.
And it costs a pretty penny.

$100-$300

That's what most of you paid for tickets to a single game.
Only 4 per cent paid more than $300.

Should your kids play hockey?

While 33 per cent weren't sure, more respondents said they would put their kids on a hockey team than not.

How often do you follow hockey news?

With players locked out, you're less likely to check for developments in the hockey world. A full 25 per cent of you said you aren't even aware of the lockout and 32 per cent of you don't check hockey news at all during the regular season.

For those who loved the game, the lockout has a big impact on your relationship with hockey.

With no hockey on TV, most of you are
using the time to watch more TV.







The end is not near

Most of you think the hockey lockout won't end until next season.
