Sara-Maude Juneau

Sara-Maude Juneau of Fossambault, Que. carded a final round 74 to finish in a tie for third at the Symetra Tour's Island Resort Championship, two strokes behind winner Molly Aronsson The 26-year-old Aronsson, from Shelburne, Vermont, closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 1-under 215 for her first Tour title, defeating former University of Washington teammate Sadena Parks by a stroke.

"This is a really special place to me and to win here with family ties is amazing," said Aronsson, whose ancestors came from Sweden and settled in Escanaba. "I love the resort. I love the course. It is just spectacular and the fans were outstanding. I just had a blast all week and that contributed a lot to the win."

Aronsson earned $18,750 to jump from 117th to 13th on the money list with $21,287. The top 10 at the end of the year will earn 2015 LPGA Tour cards.

Parks finished with a final round 75.

"Going neck and neck with Sadena was really cool," Aronsson said. "I think she is an incredible athlete and she is a former teammate of mine. I think playing with her yesterday kept me in it. ... It's pretty cool to finish one and two for two Huskies."

Juneau, who started the day tied with Aronsson in sixth place, stumbled with three bogeys over her first 10 holes before making birdie on No. 14. Back-to-back birdies to close out the round tempered a double-bogey 6 on the par-4 16th for her best result of the year and fourth top-10 result of the season.

The result moved Juneau from 20th to 11th on the Tour's money list.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que. had five birdies, a pair of bogeys and a double bogey for a final round 71 to finish in a tie for fifth – her best result since a tie for second back in March. She is currently 23rd on the money list.

Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C. finished tied for 14th.

Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont., coming off her first career win in her last outing, finished tied for 74th. That dropped her from 8th to 10th on the money list.
