PGA Tour Canada

The PGA Tour of Canada finalized the eighth event on its 2013 schedule with the addition of the Great Waterway Classic.

The event will take place at Upper Canada Golf Course in Morrisburg, Ontario, south of Ottawa from August 22-25.

The tournament will now bridge what would have been a seven week gap between events when the seven tournament schedule was originally unveiled.

Upper Canada Golf Course has long stood as one of golf's hidden gems in Eastern Ontario since it opened in the 1960s. At 6,922 yards, the Robbie Robinson design winds through evergreen and deciduous trees and along waterways, challenging beginners and skilled players alike.

Eugene Wong captured the inaugural playing of The Great Waterway Classic last year at Smuggler's Glen Golf Course in Gananoque, Ontario, for his second career PGA Tour Canada victory.

The Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) will be the host organization conducting the event and a select number of junior golfers will gain entry into the tournament through a series of qualifiers across Canada.

The CJGA operates a competitive development program that focuses on all areas of the sport including clinics, tournaments, mentoring programs with Tour professionals and sending teams to represent the CJGA and Canada in international competition. Matt Hill, Michael Gligic, Cory Renfrew and Eugene Wong are among the notable list of alumni currently playing on professional tours around the world.
